A good rule of thumb in architectural photography is to photograph the building under optimum light. By that I mean the shadows from the sunlight should compliment the architectural features of the building. Often time or weather does not cooperate, or the best view of the structure will be in shadow. A twilight photo will help in these instances. Of course a clear sky is desired, but if the evening is cloudy, a good architectural photographer can still pull off the shot to the client’s satisfaction.
